Kintera
Since its inception in 1999, Kintera has grown organically as well as through its acquisition of Carol/Trevelyan Strategy Group (CTSG), a consulting firm that provides Web design and strategy services in conjunction with Kintera’s technology products to progressive clients like Amnesty International and Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California (in 2004). Despite the CTSG affiliation, Kintera serves clients from across the political spectrum, focusing on the general nonprofit market. Kintera is the only public company serving the political nonprofit and campaign market, and Greg Nelson, VP and general manager for politics and policy at Kintera believes this has helped the firm build its strengths: “Being a public company, we’ve been able to invest significant money in our infrastructure,” he says, noting that such backend Web infrastructure capabilities have been especially important during relief efforts for emergencies such as Hurricane Katrina.
