New York City Next Generation Think Tank Seeks Deputy Director
The Drum Major Institute -- a next-generation progressive think tank -- seeks an accomplished visionary with a no-holds-barred attitude to become our first-ever Deputy Director. If you dream about practical ways to enact progressive policies; if you know how to win political debates by setting their terms; and if you are ready to take on a big, challenging role with significant responsibilities; then this job may be for you.
Our new Deputy Director will serve as the #2 in command of the organization, in more of a Rahm Emmanuel way than a David Axelrod way. S/he will be a generalist who thrives on multitasking and has the skills and charisma to stand in for the ED anytime, anywhere -- with press, funders, lawmakers, etc. The right candidate has a policy, political or social change background and a solid reputation in progressive circles, either in New York or nationally.
DMI is an exciting, young organization that has rapidly become a player in the world of progressive ideas. We care about winning important political battles and challenging tired ideologies -- not about issuing reports that sit on shelves. Find out more at drummajorinstitute.org.
